# Alerts

> How Clearwatch notifies you when your site goes down.

# Alerts

When your site goes down, you'll get an email immediately. When it comes back up, you'll get a recovery email with how long it was down.

## No spam

We won't flood your inbox. If your site stays down, you get one alert — not one every 5 minutes. You'll get a second email only when it recovers.

## What's in the alert

**Down alert:**

* Which site is down
* When it became unreachable
* "We'll notify you when it recovers"

**Recovery alert:**

* Which site is back up
* Total downtime duration

## Where alerts go

Alerts are sent to the email address you signed up with.
